Jupiter homes near river and inlet
Jupiter is the northernmost town in Palm Beach County, with 61,047 residents (2020 Census). Incorporated in 1925, it sits where the Loxahatchee River meets the Atlantic at the Jupiter Inlet, which is also the southern end of the Indian River Lagoon. The lighthouse above the inlet was finished in 1860.
The Loxahatchee is a National Wild and Scenic River, designated in 1985 and one of only two in Florida. Jupiter Island, a separate town across the county line in Martin County, is not part of it. The 2020 count put the town’s housing at 30,679 units, 15.9% vacant.
Wet feet off the boat and the beach
Homes near the inlet and the river see a lot of traffic from outside: sandy shoes, wet towels, dogs back from a swim. That is the kind of water SPC plank is made for. It won’t swell at the slider, and a 20-mil wear layer holds up to sand and claws.
We finish the edge at the lanai door with a proper transition so the plank stays tight to the track. Plank belongs inside only, including an enclosed Florida room if the maker allows it, never on an open porch.
Seasonal schedules
About one in six Jupiter housing units was empty on Census day. If yours is closed part of the year, a floor that doesn’t mind humidity is worth a lot.
Tell us when you arrive and leave. We schedule the measurement, the delivery and the install around those dates, and planks acclimate in the air-conditioned room before they go down.
What Jeanne left behind
Hurricane Jeanne in 2004 blew hard enough to sandblast the paint off the top of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Wind-driven rain gets into homes the same way, through roofs, windows and sliders.
We don’t dry or repair storm damage. Once that’s done, a waterproof floor is a sensible replacement for soaked carpet or cupped wood, keeping in mind that storm surge and standing floodwater are beyond any floor’s rating.
Jupiter job costs
Jupiter jobs are estimated at $5 to $12 per square foot installed, before your discount. A 200 square foot room is roughly $1,200 to $1,900 before the discount. A condo underlayment spec or a tile tear-out adds to it.
